Apply for a Library Card

Applications for library cards are available at the Check Out Desk or the Information Desk. A form of identification is required before a library card is issued (driver’s license, checkbook, evidence of mail received at current address, or student picture ID). Parents or guardians of children under 16 years of age must apply in person for a card for their child.

Your library card contains your 13-digit library account number. Your library PIN is the last four numbers of your phone number, and is automatically entered into your account when you apply for your card. You can change your PIN in person at the library if you wish.

Minnesota public library cards are valid at any public library in the state. Residents of other states can purchase a library card for an annual fee of $40.
